Three generations ago, our owners' family came from a small coastal town in southeast Norway called Kragero. Sounds Italian, I know, but it's Norwegian. I promise.
Fast forward to the late 1800's - the Matson family relocates to a deeply Norwegian part of Chicago. Henry and Adele Matson have six kids. Jump over to suburban Wheaton and there Ray and Florence Wiegand have five kids. One of the Wiegands and one of the Matsons get together and have kids.
Fast forward again to 1994. One of those kids, Mark Matson, is in grad school and needs to make some cash to pay tuition. He is hired to clean windows and does so for three years. He gets married, graduates and moves on.
Present day: Northern Illinois- Mark Matson and his brother, Jim, formally incorporate Norwegian Squeegee into a full service window cleaning company with customers ranging from the western suburbs of Chicago to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It took us fifteen years to get here, but we've learned that Vikings have a natural ability with a squeegee. Today, we are committed to vanquishing dirty windows & gutters all across Northern IL and Southern WI…Viking style!
Insurance
Norwegian Squeegee is insured and carries a $1M general liability policy that covers all of our equipment and employees. We also have comprehensive auto insurance on our vehicles and provide workers compensation.
